This one was so quick and easy I just had to post it!
(Sorry no step by step pics, but I think you can manage without!)
We bought some Shea Butter last night and so today was mostly about playing with that and seeing how it affects Q's hair - but we still needed a style, too! I figure Q likes being able to see and not have her hair in her face all day :) So this is what we did! I just parted it in four sections and rolled them each towards the back of her head. Two going to the left and two going to the right. Then I clipped them! TaDa!
Stay tuned for a post about my adventures in using the Shea Butter and Coconut Oil in Q's hair!!
Cute and quick idea! What is the shea butter suppose to do?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah, it was super quick!
ReplyDeleteI'm just learning about it still, but the Shea Butter will help keep the hair moisturized. (I'm hoping it also helps keep Q's curls from becoming ridiculously matted whenever they touch something - like her carseat!)
I've heard two reasons for this - 1) that Shea Butter itself is moisturizing, and
2) that all oils and fats lock in moisture, so if you use Shea Butter or Coconut oil, etc, after wetting the hair, the moisture will be "locked" in and help keep the hair soft and supple and healthy.
I'm not sure yet which claim is accurate - but maybe there's truth to both of them!
I know her hair is sure nice and soft today - we'll have to see how it is when she gets up from her nap. (always the curl-killer)
That is really interesting! Be sure to let me know what you think of it. Thanks for sharing.
